In what has been viewed as today’s circus, Red Bull Racing announced new updates on its RB20 that will be used in the Spanish Grand Prix in an effort in attempt to stave off its rivals. Many of these industry revolutionizing updates are targeted towards hotter climate for improved aerodynamic capabilities with upcoming Europe phase being a clear beneficiary to the improved innovation.
The new improvements in Red Bull’s performer comes at a time when competition is putting more pressure on the team in a bid to snatched the title from them because the new changes are” aimed at improving the car’s cooling properties and its aerodynamics. The changes are very much detail oriented and focus solely on the aerodynamic efficiency of the vehicle so that it does not trade downforce for the anti-stator attributes. Here are the five specific changes made by Red Bull as per the FIA submission documents, therefore finding number one.
The most obvious modification is in the side pod cluster where fresh thinking/intuition has been used to enhance the car’s airflow. Red Bull has widened the space in which air flows into the sidepod intakes to increase its efficiency within the car heat-exchanging system. This change is to avoid pushing, overheating, and still maintain the flow of air beneath the vehicle. Potential losses can be minimized with properly directed airflow thus making the RB20 maintain its optimum performance despite the Spanish heat.

Red Bull has also tried a newer concept in rear wing which will help in providing more downforce, thus not increasing drag as well. This wing is solely suited for the fast, low downforce conditions that are likely to be encountered at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The alteration aids in giving the car stability during turns when driving at high speeds, therefore improving the control of the drivers.
This is an important picture showing that Rubber Guard diffuser and the floor is RB20 has changed significantly. For the ground effect, new floor has replced out495 refined contours, so overall grip was improved. The diffuser has been set up to combine with the new floor to make sure that the car stays close to the ground at high speed /especially through the middle part of barcelona track.
Red Bull has improved the brake duct cooling system in reaction to the anticipated warmer weather during the European portion of the season. Brake fade and overheating throughout the race are less likely thanks to the improved ducts, which maintain the brakes at ideal temperatures. Making this change is essential to ensuring reliable stopping throughout the Grand Prix.

Finally, Red Bull has improved the RB20’s suspension parts. Tire management and mechanical grip are intended to be enhanced by these adjustments. The tires can now be handled more skillfully thanks to the updated suspension system, which also keeps them working within their ideal window for longer. In addition to improving performance, this modification prolongs tire life, providing Red Bull with a tactical edge in competitions.
These upgrades come at a crucial time as Red Bull seeks to fend off challenges from teams like Mercedes and Ferrari. The Spanish Grand Prix, known for its demanding track layout and high temperatures, will be the first real test of these upgrades. Red Bull’s technical director expressed confidence that these changes would provide a significant performance boost, enabling the team to maximize its points haul in the coming races.
As the European leg of the Formula 1 season gets underway, all eyes will be on Red Bull to see if these upgrades can help them maintain their competitive edge. With the RB20 now equipped with cutting-edge technology and innovative design enhancements, Red Bull is poised to take the fight to their rivals, promising an exciting showdown in Spain.
