The unforgettable event at June 11 was the night when Thorpe entered the ring to square off with Tavion Heights – another young athlete to watch. The crowd was in for quite the show and the energy of Thorpe just heighten as he seemed to be more aimed up, and focused than ever. Indeed, as soon as the bell was rung the fight, it was obvious that absence worked only in his advantage as the hunger for the victory was even greater.
That bout was especiality wrestling at its best and Thorpe outclassed Heights quite comfortably during their match. Thorpe produced an amazing sequence of quick strikes that led to his crushing finish, which earned him the three-count and a victorious return. The arena echoed with the loud chants of “Welcome back!” from the fans. In addition to celebrating a triumphant comeback, Thorpe’s win made it very evident to the NXT roster that he is back and ready to take the top spot.

After his match, Thorpe spoke with WWE.com to thank the fans for their steadfast support during his recuperation. “Being out of action was tough, but the support from the WWE Universe kept me going,” Thorpe stated. “I’m back, better than ever, and ready to take on anyone who stands in my way.”
