In the electric atmosphere of Tulsa, Oklahoma, where the roar of engines collides with the fervor of racing enthusiasts, Stewart-Haas Racing’s Chase Briscoe found himself in the midst of a gripping saga at the iconic Tulsa Expo Center. The Chili Bowl National Preliminary action on Monday unfolded as a high-stakes journey for Briscoe, positioned 12th on the starting grid, harboring aspirations of a stellar performance to secure a coveted spot in the main event.
A Display of Prowess on the Challenging Track
As the night unfolded, Briscoe, Tony Stewart’s mentee and the ace behind the #14 Ford, showcased a display of prowess on the challenging track. With clinical precision, he navigated through the field, executing overtakes that earned him crucial passing points. The culmination of his efforts saw him clinch an impressive fourth place in the Monday Night A feature.
A Bitter-Sweet Taste of Success
The sweet taste of success was accompanied by a tinge of bitterness, as it fell marginally short of ensuring a direct entry into the main event. In a rare display of vulnerability and transparency, Briscoe publicly acknowledged his perceived flaw, admitting, “I feel like that caution to come out four to go. I was for sure going to run second. I was right beside Shane(Golobic) and you know if I get by him, I don’t think Tanner(Carrick) would have expected anybody to come up on the bottom if I could have timed it right I maybe could have got there but I was for sure, was going to I lock in, I felt like, and then… After the caution, I still had a chance. I just truthfully ran really bad laps. I over-thought everything I’m sure, just wasn’t doing a very good job.”

Briscoe’s Reflection on Monday Night
Despite the disappointment lingering in his words, Briscoe was quick to recognize the potency of his racecar and the undeniable thrill of his performance. “So should’ve probably run third. The worst is I ended up costing myself a spot. But yeah, overall that was probably the most fun that I’ve had here. I feel like I had one of the best cars every time I hit the racetrack. So, that was good. We still need obviously a little bit, but to go forward, start 12. I think we were up to fifth in like 10 laps so I felt really good about it.” he reflected.
Strategic Insights for Saturday’s Main Event
In an exclusive conversation with a source, Briscoe opened up about his strategy for the upcoming Saturday main event, providing fans with insights into his tactical approach. The disappointment of Monday night served as a catalyst, fueling his determination for a redemptive showing. Briscoe emphasized the need to be “up on the wheel” on Saturday, signaling a readiness to tackle the challenges that lay ahead.
Despite falling short on Monday, Briscoe’s performance earned him not only valuable points but also admiration from fans and peers alike. He acknowledged the significance of his finishing position, considering the stark contrast in his level of involvement in dirt racing compared to some of his competitors. “To do it as little as we do it and even race the champion’s car or other cars to run third or fourth, it’s just a testament to how good we do with how little we race. So, looking forward to the rest of the week. Obviously, Saturday’s got to be up on the wheel and hopefully, we can race our way in.” he humbly remarked.
Looking ahead to the remaining days of the Chili Bowl, Briscoe expressed optimism, confident in his ability to race his way to victory. In discussing the intricacies of the track surface, he hinted at a need to refine his strategy, particularly in handling the slick conditions. There was a palpable acknowledgment of the need for adjustments to navigate the evolving dynamics of the track.
Unyielding Passion for Victory
As the Chili Bowl saga continues to unfold, Briscoe remains undeterred, fueled by an unyielding passion for victory. Despite the tactical setback experienced on Monday night, his eyes are firmly set on the ultimate prize. With unwavering determination, he declared, “I feel really good about it,” leaving fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter of Chase Briscoe’s Chili Bowl odyssey.
