Juan River is a Latin music star, born and raised in Southern California He died in plane crash aged 43 on December 9 2012. She would have been 55 years next week. The children of Marian, Chiquis, Jacqie, Johnny, Jenicka and Michael jointly moved to the podium crying all through receiving the award on behalf of their mother.
The event started with an introduction by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to pay tribute to the tremendous contribution of Rivera into the music industry and her efforts when becoming one of the few women who popularized banda – the genre mostly widely spread among Mexican men.
