Jenni Rivera or also known as ‘La Diva de la Banda’ was given a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame long after she met her tragic demise through a plane crash. The unveiling that was done on Thursday in front of people near the Capitol Records building was heart-touching, which was followed by the many memorials people had for her.
Juan River is a Latin music star, born and raised in Southern California He died in plane crash aged 43 on December 9 2012. She would have been 55 years next week. The children of Marian, Chiquis, Jacqie, Johnny, Jenicka and Michael jointly moved to the podium crying all through receiving the award on behalf of their mother.
The event started with an introduction by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to pay tribute to the tremendous contribution of Rivera into the music industry and her efforts when becoming one of the few women who popularized banda – the genre mostly widely spread among Mexican men. Hand clapping followed the revelation of the star as the society gave their acclaim toward a personage of Rivera influence.
